Hey folks! Hi guys! Hello fellow students!
If you haven't guessed it already, we're going to be learning a few synonyms today! As you probably already know, synonyms are different words that share the same meaning. The ability to remember and use synonyms in everyday conversation really makes the difference between an English learner and an English speaker.
In the next video, you'll learn new synonyms for the words 'weird', 'funny', and 'expensive'.
So sit back, enjoy the video, then answer the following questions.
Questions:
1. What are 3 synonyms for the word 'weird'? Please give an example of each word by using it in a sentence.
2. 'Funny' and 'hilarious' are synonyms, but they are slightly different. How are these words different, and in what type of situation would you use them?
3. In the video, which 2 synonyms are used for the word 'expensive'? Which word is more informal? Please use this word in a sentence.
Please send all your answers to sabrina.pudlowski@iessoto.com. I will correct your sentences within 24 hours.
******Please make sure you write your answers using complete sentences! This means starting your sentences with a capital letter and ending it with a period. Also, please avoid run-on sentences, which are sentences that contain more than one idea (independent clause). Use connector words like also, in addition, because, firstly, but, etc...
