Hello Everyone!
Today I have something very important to talk about that is going on within my home country of The United States. Throughout most of my country's brief history, racism and other remnants of the slave trade have always been topics that people choose not to talk to each other about, which I believe only adds more shame surrounding it. There have been many times when police have abused their power, but last week the police killed an unarmed, innocent, black man while trying to stop a protest. His name was George Floyd and there was a video of the whole incident taken on someone's phone, and it has enraged the American public. So much so that many citizens living in the cities have staged very large scale and sometimes violent protests. This is also is not even close to the first time this has happened. Thousands of innocent people have been killed by police. During the last week of the riots, police officers and civilians have both died and been beaten, but a lot of businesses have been damaged too. There have been so many of these "accidental" murders in my country but everyone is now starting to realize there might be a definite racial bias to them. I believe this is a time when America will actually start to try and fix some of their problems with police. In America we like to make our police force as strong as our military but I believe that is the issue. You should not have soldiers trying to take care of civilians living no where near warfare. A policeman should not see a civilian or regular person on the street as a possible threat, but more so as a possible ally or friend of the community. Please, I know this news might produce some rather strong emotions so if you would like to post a comment with your thoughts or even just want to email me at hdixonh@gmail.com with any questions about what you think, I am more than happy to help:) The most important thing is just that we actually talk about these types of issues so we do not divide people further. Here is a news article for more information as well.
I already know about that, unfortunately this types of situations are constantly repeated, i don't know why, maybe there are people that doesn't aproove different people. George Floyd it's one of the thousands of victims because the racism. I don't know at all if with the manifestations we will stop the racism, I trust after the events in the United States, people are no longer going to endure any abuse of power from a police or politician, that's what I think
We all have the same rights,no matter your skin color or race.
We are all equal and we all deserve the same respect.
I already knew what happened to George Floyd. When I saw the video on TV I started crying. I told myself how a human being is capable of killing another person, who is the same as him, but with a different color. And there I fell that it does not matter the color, choice, culture or country. Because deep down we are all equal and by that I mean that all of us, those of planet earth are equal and always will be. The video broke my heart, because I knew there is still racism. So all protesters have the right to protest, because a human being like me and like us has killed a person who is equal to…
I think that this problem already exist before but the problem is that the government don't want to listen and the people is furious I hope that we learn from this and we stop racism in all the world 😞
The human is equal to others humans, not because you are Spanish you are superior or inferior to others, countries, cultures, religions, skin color. It is that we are the same as the same race but with different aspects that characterize us, but they do not make us worse or better. And the human needs to change because now is like ohh one die, but they are thousends of dies, and this not is for now, is since centurys of years.
