Hello 4ESO!
Today, I have uploaded a couple of links that will help you in your preparation for the Listening Component of the Cambridge Exams (B1, B2 or C1 Levels).
Radio Garden (http://radio.garden) is a website that allows you to listen to radio stations from anywhere in the world. I hope this is an interesting tool for you all, which will also help entertain you these coming weeks! As the Cambridge Exams are created by British examination boards, my advice is that you familiarise yourself with different British accents.
You can search for any radio station world-wide on Radio Garden, but I'm going to recommend some UK-based stations that will be especially useful for your listening practise:
BBC World Service http://radio.garden/listen/bbc-world-service/FXyhz9Xk (News)
BBC Radio 1 http://radio.garden/listen/bbc-radio-1/DroUvCmL (News and Music)
BBC Radio 4 http://radio.garden/listen/bbc-radio-4/CO4JBP8X (Radio Programmes and Talk Shows)
BBC Radio 5 http://radio.garden/listen/bbc-radio-5-live/k7kC0WPu (Interviews, News, Politics, Sport Coverage)
Please note that the BBC also has local radio stations: Birmingham, Oxford, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Scotland, Wales,... etc. You'll find that each station has presenters with very different accents, so I strongly recommend that you have a listen and get used to different British accents.
Speaking of different British accents, if you are interested in watching an illuminating and entertaining video about the main accents, here is a link to a YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyyT2jmVPAk&list=PLTqkecIiJ0mqXW36-hdqkguKQqRwQ8uBU&index=3&t=0s . This lady speaks in the main 17 accents that you can find throughout the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Hope you find it interesting!
Best wishes,
Carla
