TED Talks: Important Women Throughout History (by Carla)

Hello all!

I hope you've all enjoyed your long weekend!

I have found an interesting playlist in TED Ed's YouTube Channel. It is called "Well-behaved women seldom make history". I know many of you studied the lives of famous female scientists for the 11th of February (International Day of Women and Girls in Science), so along those lines, I think you will find this post illuminating :)

When we study History, we mainly study important male historical figures, so it is important to shed some light on important women too. We could call this side of history, "HER-story"! I think you can find these videos to be a great way to learn about History in a fun and entertaining way.

Some of the highlights include:

Cleopatra

Hatshepsut

Sacajawea

Marie Curie

Cleopatra was important because when Rome was decayed, she helped to improve it and she joined Marco Antonio.

Hatshepsut was important because she did many good things for Egypt and her son tried to steal her victories.

Sacajawea was an important woman because she suffered a lot, was very brave and helped to explore the land of the United States of America.
