Hi everyone! It's me, Valerie, writing to you all from Bogotá, Colombia. I've spent Christmas break this year here visiting family! I was suppose to fly back to Madrid on January 9, but just as the Madrid snow fall has snowed you all in for some time, it has snowed me in too!! The snow and cold has cancelled all flights going to Madrid for the near future, but we have been able to reschedule the flight for Tuesday, January 12, at night. Here's hoping that it doesn't get cancelled too! I'm looking forward to seeing you all again and hopefully I'll get to see you all on Thursday! Until then, I thought I'd show you guys some of my favorite things about Colombia. It was my first time ever visiting. These were the things that stood out the most:

Bogotá is huge! It's almost 3 times bigger than Madrid by land area. Also, Bogotá has strange weather all year. It rains a lot, and some days it can be really warm and then all the sudden you need a coat! Always have to go out in layers.

Lots of avocado, platano, and juice or coconut lemonade with every meal!

Four wheeling in Villa de Leyva, which is a town outside of Bogotá.

Then, we visited Cartagena, where it's summer all year long!

Many salsa bands in Cartagena!

I'm sure I'll get to you tell you all more when I get back! Let's hope some of the snow melts in Madrid and lets us take out flight on Tuesday night.

See you soon!

Valerie
